A few years ago, the internet user used to have only one browser, the one at home almost always, in which he deposited the information he needed in his browsing, add-ons, bookmarks, history, etc …. With the step time, every day we use more gadgets that use La Xarxa, that’s why El Núvol and those programs that use this concept have become fashionable. A few months ago, Google Chrome offered the ability to sync all our data in all browsers we use, so it was associated with a user and by marking that user in any Chrome browser we use, we will have all the information that we have. Perhaps this feature enhanced the use of Chrome but he is no longer the only one. The Mozilla team launched a few months ago experimentally and makes some definitive versions of “Firefox Sync«, A browser utility that not only allows us to synchronize the information we want but also allows us to link and unlink the devices we want with the Firefox browser we choose. In addition, it allows us to associate mobile versions of Firefox with our mobile information Firefox OS.
How to use Firefox Sync
Surely many of you have seen something in yours Mozilla Firefox which resembles Sync or Firefox Sync or even «synchronize computers«. Well, let’s see now how to use these options. The first thing we need to do is go to Edit -> Preferences and a window like this appears, we go to the tab that is active, «Sync»Which is none other than the link or direct menu of Firefox Sync. The image you see is the one that appears when you have it set up but otherwise a gray screen will appear with two options: link or create a new account. Being the first time we choose to create an account and the next one will appear
We fill it with our data and click next, if it has been created without problems, Firefox Sync will index all the information in the browser to synchronize on the computers we link.
Now we just need to pair devices, which is nothing more than telling the Firefox to sync information from that computer with another computer or device like tablet or mobile. Let’s go back to the screen that appears after going to Edit> Settings-> Sync and we will see how the previous screen appears. Well, now we’re going to “pair device” with this screen.
Well in the three central boxes you need to insert a code, which gives us the device we want to link, for example our mobile. we open it Firefox from our mobile, Let’s go to the options and look for “link device” a code will appear and we will insert it on the other screen. Well now the previous screen will appear again informing us that the device is syncing. This operation must be performed with any device we want to link, it is repetitive but very secure. Once we have paired all our devices, we go back to the screen where the option appears “pair device»And we will have the Firefox Sync configuration screen. There is a central menu where we choose the type of data we want to synchronize or do not want, such as add-ons or cookies, to give an example, you decide. In the bottom menu box we have the option to put a name or nickname on the device, in my case I put Desktop because it is the desktop, but I have another with «netbook»And another with«Phone«. And with all this you will have it set up Firefox Sync and you can sync your data to Mozilla Firefox. What did you think of the learning program? Do you find it useful? Did you have any problems? Don’t cut yourself, give your opinion so you can help someone else, even if you don’t believe it.
