The GNU / Linux University Group of Entre Rius, (Gugler), which was born in the corners of the Autonomous University of Entre Rius (UADER) in the hands of a group of students of the degree, Degree in Systems the Information, reaffirms its commitment to the dictation of the courses of GNU / Linux Administration and programming in PHP. Gugler teaches Administration courses in GNU / Linux, in its levels I, II, III, and IV and programming in PHP in the Faculty of Science and Technology, headquarters Green Gold, of the UADER. These courses are aimed at all types of people: computer professionals, suitable or simply “curious”; and will begin on Friday, September 3rd.
In this new semester that is beginning, and after receiving so many complaints from stakeholders in the interior of the country, Gugler decided to implement the dictation of distance learning courses. And to be able to do it: “we were researching for a year looking for methodologies and pedagogies so that you can do the course from home with an Internet connection”, said Néstor Flors and added, “that’s why we develop classes in a online that you can see from home, do the internships, complete the forms and make online face-to-face meetings for queries and questions “.
But it should be noted that Gugler not only focuses on the dictation of courses, but also with what they collect from what students pay for the courses they use to improve the computer equipment of the Faculty. In this way, and from 2006 to date, they have managed to provide the Faculty with: Wi-Fi; a classroom that was not used as a laboratory was reused; new computers and communication equipment were purchased; in addition to new equipment for the administrative staff of the Faculty.
About the courses
In this new semester starting on September 3, a new level was added, the IV, for the GNU / Linux Administration career and new commissions for the PHP Programming course.
Thus, in level I of GNU / Linux Administration, it is intended to introduce the student to basic notions regarding both GNU / Linux and Free Software. In addition, topics such as system installation and configuration, the use of commands to interact with it, package management and administration, boot managers, graphical environment and networking basics in GNU / Linux are covered. .
In the following levels, students will delve into topics such as the installation and configuration of web services and Databases, programming of the Bash environment, networks and security; to end up in advanced, centralized configurations such as domain deployment, mail and print servers, and remote administrations.
On the other hand, the course of Web Applications with PHP in his level I, pretends to offer an introduction to the language, show his elements and tools more used, as well as learn to use appearances of the programming oriented to objects .
The courses are taught on Fridays and Saturdays at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Green Gold headquarters, National route 11 Km 10.5 and costs 30 pesos per month for students and graduates of the Fcyt and 50 pesos for the public in general, plus a tuition fee of 20 pesos in general. Also, the cost for the distance mode is 100 pesos per month plus a registration fee of 50 pesos.

Gugler is the GNU / Linux University Group Between Rivers. This group was formed in 2006 by a group of students internalized in the Free Software (SL) movement and the GNU / Linux environments, with the initiative of migrating to SL in the UADER. After that they are oriented towards support and training tasks.
