Conky is a small Linux application that handles monitor the system; with the following tutorial, I will teach you how to install it and activate the Skin Conky-rings but the modification of devlinux to have all this monitoring information on our linux desktop.
following all the steps in this tutorial you will be able to install and activate Conky in a very simple way and without any problems.
First of all, it will open a terminal and install Conky:
sudo apt-get install Conky-all
Once Conky is installed, we will download the skin from devlinux of Conky-rings:
The file will be downloaded to ours personal folder, From the same terminal we will decompress it as follows:
tar xvzf conky_rings_yoyo.tar.gz
Now for move folders to home directory which is where they should be, we will open nautilus from the terminal itself and we will do it in a graphical way to make it easier for newer users with the terminal:
Now, we just need to copy the contents of the folder conky_rings_yoyo of directors root, And once there call- with a dot in front so that both files are hidden.
Then, to launch Conky, we just have to press ALT + F2 and write Conky, To close we will do the same combination but typing killall Conky.
