The Lubuntu developer and principal mantainer, Rafael Llacuna, has written a post appeared on the Lubuntu blog showing the next Lubuntu 16.04 LTS running on a Raspberry Pi 2, With the LXQt desktop as the default graphical environment.
This variant was created using Ubuntu Pi Flavor Maker, A tool to bring different versions of Ubuntu to the Raspberry Pi development board, which was created by the Ubuntu MAT team. As for Lubuntu 16.04 LTS, what we can say is that it is currently under development and that in the end there seems to be progress in implementing LXQt in Lubuntu.

A nice experiment created by wxl from the Lubuntu QA Team: run Lubuntu Xenial Xerus on a Raspberry Pi 2 with LXQt desktop. It’s done with Ubuntu Pi Flavor Maker. And that’s it. Enjoy Lubuntu on your new Pine. Remember this is just an experiment, it could be unstable.
