In Ubunlog we want to dedicate an entry to the graphic novel. Surprisingly, at least the comics industry continues to be as successful as it is, especially when it seems that audiovisual culture has caught the attention of new generations.
Still, and I say that from experience, there are still a lot of people who follow very closely the world of Marvel, DC or any kind of Japanese manga. That is why we want to teach you how we can play comics in Ubuntu with MComix, In an easy and dynamic way. Let’s get started.
MComix is a comic book reader that supports both American comic and Japanese manga. With it, we can play one wide variety of formats of comics such as CBR, CBZ, CB7, LHA and even PDF.
MComix started as a project with another name (Comiz) several years ago, but its development stopped in 2009. From that moment, what was then Comix, would experience a series of changes and with time it was going to be evolving to the reader who we know nowadays, who owns the following characteristics:

Still, there seems to be a major bug that has yet to be fixed. Although the application allows us to open animated images, these they are not going to reproduce. This error has already been reported here, But apparently still has no response from developers.
How to install MComix
To install this comic book reader, we can install the corresponding package directly from MComix through the terminal, as MComix is available by default in the official Ubuntu repositories, so just run the following:
sudo apt-get install mcomix
if you want the latest version of MComix (1.2.1) we can do as usual, adding the corresponding repository (from webupd8) to the list of repositories, update it and proceed to install the package corresponding to MComix. All this can be done by running the following commands in the terminal:
its add-apt-repository ppa: nilarimogard / webupd8
