Loki is not only the brother of Thor (the God). It is also a network that allows its users to communicate or perform transactions privately, securely and anonymously over the Internet through a decentralized system.
Could Loki be the brother of Tor (the network)?
Loki combines a private transactional network, rewarding node services, and an onion router called Lokinet. Loki is also a cryptosystem that uses a hybrid PoA/PoS principle, similar to the way DASH is secured in PoA, but rewards its master nodes through a PoS principle. To visit Loki’s blockchain, it’s in the Explorer here.
By installing what you need on your machine or servers to run Lokinet, not only will you help keep the network running smoothly, but you’ll also have access to the Loki network which is similar to Tor, except that the hidden services in .onion are replaced by SNApps in .loki. Anyway, you get the picture.
The Linux Tutorial is here, the macOS tutorial is here and if you’re on Windows, well… there’s nothing. ??
But Loki is also an application called Session which is simply a decentralized, anonymous and private messaging system that allows you to communicate without fear of interception or censorship. Session removes all the sensitive metadata that messaging applications often carry. So no phone number is required, there is no fingerprint, it is open-source, totally censorship-proof, and synchronization between several of your devices.
Please note that since the Session stores absolutely NOTHING, there will never be any leakage of personal data. There is also an ongoing reward error in the project. So you can be sure of your privacy.
The session will allow you to chat with your contacts in complete safety, but you will also be able to join or create groups, a bit like in the case of the Telegram, except that you will not be supervised by a foreign company or power. And of course, all communications are encrypted from end to end and without any kind of metadata.
Available as a desktop client for MacOS, Linux and Windows, Session is also available on the mobile with versions for Android (APK) and iPhone
If you are interested, to communicate without impediment or to create your private discussion group, you can download Session here.
