At the end of this week we will know the new Ubuntu Phone update, the OTA-12. An update that will fix many bugs that the operating system still has, but will also include new features that will significantly improve the performance of certain devices such as the BQ Aquaris M10.
A tablet that is increasingly presented as a cheap and almost free alternative to the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro. Devices that make the user have a desktop anywhere and now the BQ can have it too.
Canonical has released a video proud of the news of the OTA-12 on the tablet BQ Aquaris M10
And the Canonical team is proud of that, which is why it has released a video on the operation of the tablet after receiving the new OTA-12. This operation not only offers better performance but allows us to use Ubuntu Convergence no need to use cables, which provides Aethercast and bluetooth of the device, Not to mention the management performed by Ubuntu Phone on the operating system. Although we must say that the technology will not be called Aethercast but Wireless Display, a menu that we will find in Settings-> Brightness and Display. There we will find the menu where we can connect our TV or monitor to the tablet.
Personally I think this OTA-12 is important for certain users but it is certainly nothing for the future and present of the operating system as we knew Aethercast running for months.
And yet it is an important thing for mobiles or phablets that have Ubuntu Touch as it is easier for a user to carry a mobile than to carry a tablet Don’t you believe? Still, I think the BQ Aquaris M10 stands out for its landscape mode that brings us closer to Convergence and not to be able to connect to the monitors, which on the other hand is not bad for doing so.
