Finally we have in the markets Windows 10, the operating system with which Microsoft will offer users the famous Convergence that everyone is looking for. This convergence comes first in Windows than in Ubuntu, but that doesn’t mean Ubuntu convergence is worse than Windows. Many of you will be wondering which system is better Ubuntu 15.04 or Windows 10? A question difficult to answer and even more difficult to decide.
To help you in this decision what I thought convenient is to show a series of pros of each operating system, monstraolo clearly and then everyone decides for themselves as the computer is personal.
Pros of Windows 10
There are many new features with Windows 10 and many of these new features are very good but I have only selected a few, the most striking or important. One of these features is called Cortana, The voice wizard included in Windows 10. This wizard will allow us to control Windows 10 with voice, as well as ease of use with the operating system.
Convergence in Windows 10 is now complete, A single core and system for all devices, but so far we only have the installation on computers, the mobile version and the tablet version has not yet arrived. This convergence will mean that there is only one application for each program, this will make it easier for developers to work as only one development is needed. Windows seems to be the king of video games and Microsoft knows it, so it has added and built-in Xbox platform to Windows 10 to play with the latest Xbox on our computer.
Continuum is another new facet of Windows 10 to consider, this will allow us to use our smartphone as a Windows 10 computer and connect to other devices such as a monitor or keyboard.
Pros of Ubuntu 15.04
Ubuntu 15.04 it may not have the famous convergence but it does have other equally interesting pros. One of these good features is that offers the same for fewer resources. Ubuntu 15.04 consumes less RAM and less space than Windows 10. It also comes at a lower price; while Windows 10 still costs over $ 100, Ubuntu 15.04 is free, just need an internet connection.
currently Ubuntu 15.04 it doesn’t have as good a hand with video games as Microsoft, Windows 10 and Xbox but it does has the Steam platform, A very interesting platform that will allow us to play almost any video game with a few more years.
Perhaps the worst difference from Ubuntu 15.04 As for Windows 10 is the inclusion of many types of applications and installations, this is a mess for developers, but at the same time this allows greater system control to the user since everyone chooses how to install the application, customize it if you want and even distribute it through personal networks without having to perform installation after installation. In addition Ubuntu 15.04 has greater security control thanks to the root password and without viruses. Something Windows 10 doesn’t have yet.
Personally I am of the opinion that Windows 10 should not be compared to Ubuntu 15.04 for convergence, but then I think many of us use Android and not ubuntu Touch or Windows 10 mobile, so when it comes to the truth it is something that does not affect us. The only repercussion I see is the fact that we have a single application in one program or we have several in a program. In this case it would be the user himself who should think whether this bothers or not. In my case I do not see it relevant because I do not care to have a single way to install a program or have several, I always choose the one that I find most comfortable.
As for the other pros of Windows 10, since Ubuntu 15.04 offers greater system customization than Windows 10, we can happily say that anything we can have in Windows 10 in Ubuntu 15.04: from a voice assistant even a video game platform through emulation, servers, different screens with the same computer, etc …. Everything is possible thanks to the freedom of code, something that Microsoft and Windows 10 do not offer. But as I say, everyone chooses and is no more to use only Ubuntu 15.04 or less to use Windows 10, in return, sometimes switching operating systems is best for our needs.
