One of the biggest surprises that Ubuntu has given about its new version is the possibility of a new official flavor based on BSD and not Linux, this has given rise to UbuntuBSD, an interesting project. The Community that has been created around UbuntuBSD it is such that in a few weeks the work of six months is being carried out, to the point that by the end of this month UbuntuBSD is expected to make this list and functionally stable.
And in the meantime, those of us who want to try UbuntuBSD no longer have to do so through forums or external repositories but can download it from its official website. one website that has been launched modestly and that it has the basics not only to test the new taste but also the documentation to develop and use this union between BSD and Ubuntu.
UbuntuBSD already has an official website
Unfortunately we don’t know anything about UbuntuBSD. Just like a few days ago Mark Shuttleworth claimed that Ubuntu Budgie could be an official taste if there is a strong community behind this, nothing has been said about UbuntuBSD. Something that is very confusing, but users who try and follow the project have hopes that the project will become an official taste. However, whether or not it is, Ubuntu with BSD is adapting very well. currently 5 betas have been developed which are giving good results and as we say, project leaders think that the first official version of UbuntuBSD will be released later this month.
BSD has been an operating system with a very slow development but also very secure and functional. For many it has been an unknown and difficult to manage operating system but recent advances have made its use amplified to the point of having a version with the philosophy of Ubuntu and all the software developed for this operating system. Much remains to be done, however UbuntuBSD could be something important for the future of Ubuntu.
