It seems that there is no other talk about Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus and no wonder as it is the next LTS version and the last before the Convergence. So it seems like everyone wants to do their best for this version. So the developer Thibaut B. has published in your Google Plus profile a help request to create a new USB Creator, a tool to burn Ubuntu disk images to USB.
USB Creator will be ported to QML, Being thus a lighter and more flexible application than the current USB Creator, it is also wanted that in addition to recording images of Ubuntu images from other distributions or operating systems can be recorded.
Thibaut has stated that its intention will be to bring the USB Creator tool to other platforms, so that a user can use USB disk image recording without any problems. Although Thibaut has in its profile several models and prototypes of this program, the developer wants to make the best possible tool for various platforms. There really aren’t many tools to perform this type of task, at least from GNU / Linux, the few that exist and are effective are the tools that run on command in the terminal, but of course, this clashes with the kind of Ubuntu users that many are new to and unfamiliar with.
At the moment it seems that development has begun and that we will see a new interface in USB Creator, but we do not know things like designs, possible functions or simply: What platforms will it be available for?
Although I don’t really try USB Creator for Ubuntu installations, I think it is a necessary type of tool and that a remodel would not go wrong, however we hope that this premature change does not signify instability for the next LTS version.
